چکیده

Water contamination with dyes is harmful to humans and the environment. This study investigated photocatalytic activity of natural clay (GOL) mixed carbon nanotubes (CNT) for removal brilliant black (BB) in wastewater. The materials were characterized FESEM-EDS, XRD, XRF, FTIR UV-vis DRS. contains 2.34 % TiO2 which 75% more than most clays. SEM showed that CNT well dispersed clay. DRS spectra two absorption bands above 380 nm. GOL has decreased significantly energy band gaps from 2.75 3.25 eV 1.53 2.90 10% CNT–GOL, respectively. Photocatalytic was enhanced degradation BB increased 66 95% CNT–GOL respectively after 45 min visible light irradiation. improvement can be attributed synergy interface heterojunction CNT. presence reduces e− h+ (e− / h+) pairs recombination facilitates production reactive oxygen species responsible decay dye. addition H2O2 experiment (2 mmoL) confirmed role holes hydroxyl radicals. Eighty-five percent content removed suggesting mineralization occurred. After irradiation, kinetic studies followed a second-order reaction R2 = 0.997. Therefore, clay–CNT nanocomposites applied treat containing wastewaters.

Titania Nanotubes Grown on Carbon Fibers for Photocatalytic Decomposition of Gas-Phase Aromatic Pollutants

This study aimed to prepare titania (TiO₂) nanotube (TNT) arrays grown on un-activated carbon fibers (UCFs), with the application of different TiO₂ loadings based on the coating-hydrothermal process, and to evaluate their photocatalytic activity for the degradation of sub-ppm levels of aromatic pollutants (benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, and o-xylene (BTEX)) using a plug-flow photocatalytic re...

Natural Frequency of Rotating Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes with Considering Gyroscopic Effect

This paper investigates the bending vibration of rotating single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) based on nonlocal theory. To this end, the rotating SWCNTs system modeled as a beam with a circular cross section and the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory (EBT) is applied with added effects such as rotary inertia, gyroscopic effect and rotor mass unbalance. Using nonlocal theory, two coupled sixth orde...

Sonochemical Green Method for Preparation of Mg-Doped ZnO Nanostructures in Water with Enhanced Photocatalytic Activity

In this work, Mg-doped ZnO nanostructures were prepared in water under ultrasonic irradiation for 60 min without using any organic compounds or post preparation treatments. The prepared samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), energy dispersive analysis of X-ray (EDX), diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS...

Enhanced magnetic separation and photocatalytic activity of nitrogen doped titania photocatalyst supported on strontium ferrite.

An enhanced ferromagnetic property, visible light active TiO(2) photocatalyst was successfully synthesized by supporting strontium ferrite (SrFe(12)O(19)) onto TiO(2) doped with nitrogen (N) and compared with N-doped TiO(2). The synthesized catalysts were further characterized with X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscope (TEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), BET s...

Enhanced dispersion of multiwall carbon nanotubes in natural rubber latex nanocomposites through the use of benzene-containing branched hydrocarbon surfactants

We present here a systematic study of the dispersibility of multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) in natural rubber latex (NR-latex) assisted by a series of single-, double-, and triple-sulphosuccinate anionic surfactants containing benzene ring moieties. Optical polarising microscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and Raman spectrosc...
